One more demised news hit the headlines of the newspapers today and put the world in big grief. With a sad heart, we are sharing the demised news of a popular retired professor of Forensic Medicine of Jinnah Sindh Medical University. This well-known personality died in a fire incident which was happened at their home in Mohammad Ali Housing Society, Karachi. Apart from him, five people were killed in the fire of smoke breathing in.  The other sufferers were recognized as Akbar, Sultan, Shaista, and Sabiha. Amongst this Sabiha was a former judge.

How Did Farhat Mirza Dies?

As mention in the preliminary investigations, out of these sufferers was a former medical superintendent of Sindh Government Hospital in Liaquatabad. The cause of this fire is found a short circuit and the rest of the investigation is initiated. It took 3 brigade trucks to control the fire. Sadiq, a fireman suffered wounds while attempting to have control of the fire. Sadiq is now out of the danger.

He was the chairman of the Department Of Forensic Medicine in the Medical College of Sindh. Mirza had published many studies on many subjects including police encounters, railway track deaths, firearm injuries in Karachi and demised from poison. Mirza was a go-to expert for post-mortem for crime journalists who had questions related to medico-legal.

He was a member of many special medical boards such as Custodial Deaths, Exhumation and he leads the Karachi Forensic Society. He was the supervisor of the College Of Physicians and Surgeons for FCPS in Forensic Medicine. Dr. Farhat Mirza was born in 1952 and completed his medical education at Liaquat Medical College which is now renamed as Liaquat University Of Medical Sciences in Jamshoro.

At Sindh Medical College he taught forensic medicine, and also in Lyari Medical College and Dow University Of Health Sciences. He was asked to be a chairman of the medico-leal department which was formed by the Sindh Government. The committee has advocated much-needed improvement which was approved by the High Court of Sindh. A long summary was given to the Chief Secretary for execution.

Dr. Sumaiya Syed, a Medico-Legal expert paid tribute to his passing and stated that “Dr. Mirza had over 45 years of an eminent career in Forensic Medicine. He was a great legend in the world of forensic Medicine. He will always be remembered for his dedication, commitment, and professionalism.” May God give rest to his soul.
