Today, 17.42 lakh voters will decide the fate of six candidates in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency by-election. Voting will start at all the 1756 polling places in the district from 7 am. For this, the polling parties reached the polling places on Sunday itself. After the voting, the results will be revealed on December 8. The police-administration has made elaborate security arrangements for peaceful polling.
After the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the by-election is being held on Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. For this, a total of six candidates including SP and BJP are in the fray. These candidates had put full force in the election campaign. After the election campaign stopped on Saturday evening, now the time has come to decide the fate of the candidates.
Voting will be held in five assembly constituencies
Voters of five assembly constituencies included in Lok Sabha constituency Mainpuri will decide their fate by exercising their franchise on Monday. The five assembly constituencies include Mainpuri Sadar, Bhogaon, Kishni and Karhal assembly seats in Mainpuri district. At the same time, Jaswantnagar assembly seat of Etawah district is also a part of Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency.
Tight security arrangements for voting
Voting will start from 7 in the morning, which will continue till 6 in the evening. After the polling is over, the EVMs will be kept in the strong room at Naveen Mandi under tight security. The district has been divided into 28 zones and 163 sectors for the purpose of polling. More than 17 thousand policemen have been deployed for security arrangements. Paramilitary force has also been deployed.
